How an inspection works

On-site safety inspections: from equipment list to inspection report

Whether you have a single compactor, a mini excavator or an entire company fleet, we first clarify which items need inspection and which requirements apply.

1. Tell us your equipment and location

Send us the equipment types, quantities, location and any previous inspection records. This allows us to prepare the scope and quote.

2. Visual and functional inspection

Inspections are carried out at the agreed location and within the scope of the qualifications held. Any deviations or defects are documented clearly.

3. Receive documentation

The inspection results are documented, including the scope and outcome. Any necessary follow-up action is specified where defects are found.

Understanding inspection requirements

Questions about machinery safety inspections

What is a UVV safety inspection for an excavator?

These are often called UVV inspections or machinery safety checks. For periodic inspections of work equipment used commercially, Section 14 of the German Industrial Safety Regulation is particularly relevant. The inspection scope and intervals depend on the equipment and the operator's risk assessment.

Which machines can BBS inspect?

Depending on the equipment and inspection requirements, we can inspect suitable excavators, mini excavators, wheel and yard loaders, compactors, earth augers, chainsaws and other powered tools. We first establish whether the relevant inspection falls within our qualifications.

Can inspections take place at our business premises?

Yes. Depending on the equipment and requirements, inspections can take place at your premises or work site. From Gersheim, we also serve businesses in Blieskastel, Mandelbachtal, Kleinblittersdorf, St. Ingbert, Homburg and Saarbrücken by arrangement. We can discuss other Saarland locations individually.

Is an annual safety inspection always mandatory?

No. A uniform annual interval does not apply to all work equipment. Required inspections and their frequency are determined by legal requirements and the workplace risk assessment. We can help identify the inspection needs for specific equipment.

What is the difference between maintenance and a UVV inspection?

Maintenance and repairs are concerned with an item's condition and operation. A required periodic safety inspection assesses safety-relevant aspects within a defined scope and is documented. Both can be addressed at one appointment, but neither replaces the other.

What documents are needed for a machinery inspection?

Manufacturer and model details, operating manuals and previous inspection records are helpful. If something is missing, let us know when enquiring. We will clarify whether and under what conditions an inspection is possible.

How much does it cost to inspect several machines?

The indicative prices are listed above. The travel fee is charged only once per inspection appointment, regardless of the number of machines. We offer package quotes for larger fleets.
